Magdalena Perez, Ph.D.

Magna Perez, Ph.D.Dr. Magdalena Perez is a bilingual English-Spanish licensed clinical psychologist who works with children, adolescents, adults and families. Dr. Perez received an undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of Chicago and her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Perez completed her predoctoral internship at the Medical University of South Carolina/Department of Veteran Affairs, followed by her postdoctoral fellowship at La Rabida Children’s Hospital. Dr. Perez specializes in working with children and their families who have experienced a traumatic event. Her clinical interests include the treatment of anxiety disorders (i.e., trauma, social fears, OCD, panic, general anxiety), depression, parent-child training, child behavior disorders, family conflict, and issues pertaining to acculturation stress. She also has expertise conducting and teaching psychological and neuropsychological assessments. As a fluent Spanish speaker, Dr. Perez has significant experience working with Spanish speaking populations and providing them with linguistically and culturally sensitive treatments. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Perez teaches neuropsychological assessments to clinics who are conducting Alzheimer’s disease clinical trials. She is a member of the American Psychological Association and National Latino Psychology Association. In her leisure time, Dr. Perez enjoys taking her young daughters on “adventures” and exploring the world through their eyes. She also enjoys watching movies with her husband. She sees patients in our Schaumburg and Barrington offices.
